So during my research to write this second part, I found that McGonagall has actually retired from her position as headmistress by the time James Potter II comes to Hogwarts. For my story though, let's say that she retired, but returned to the position as head of Gryfindor alone, not as a teacher or Headmistress. The kids still call her Professor though.
Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy was the spitting image of his father. In fact, many of his traits where the same as Draco’s, or perhaps could have been attributed to wherever his distant Uncle Sirius got them from- Harry had made the connection between the two upon meeting Scorpius for the first time.
Scorpius, or as Rose and many of his friends lovingly deemed him, Scorp(s), was a cunning, mischevious, high-strung, rule-breaking son of a b*tch. (Well, his mother really was a b*tch…) He was popular, well-liked, and stunningly handsome. Tall and lanky, he had razor sharp cheekbones and chin. His harshly cut face, however, was softened by bright, animated green eyes and an ever changing smile. His eyes set him apart from the roving cold gray of his father’s. They pierced whatever they looked towards with steady confidence, whereas Draco’s flitted nervously. Both his mouth and eyes put his every emotion on display, but he was an expert liar.
Scorp turned back to his girlfriend, still leaning against the wall. His smile was loving, but his eyes danced with mischief. He took her hand and kissed her nose. Rose’s face crinkled in false disdain.
“You have a class now don’t you… Won’t you come outside on the grounds with me?” Scorpius began pulling her away from the wall and down the opposite end of the corridor. “I’ll die without you.”He finished dramatically.
“No Scorp! Its Hagrid’s class- I’ve got to go!” She protested and weakly attempted to struggle free of his grip.
“Aw, bullocks, I bet the ol’ giant would understand. I’ve heard he was quite the lover to the ladies back in the day!” He watched Rose’s face take on a stubborn quality that could only come from the blood of Hermione Granger. “Damn… Alright… But only if you’ll let me walk with you.”
“Fine.” She mumbled, keeping up with her façade. She moved ahead of him and walked down the hall. The episode with McGonagall had taken long enough that the halls were barren, save for the straggling bad kids and suck ups who had stayed after class to speak with the professors.
“Well if you’re going to be like that…” Scorpius ran after Rose and scooped her up, taking off down the corridor.
Rose squealed and kicked, beating his chest as her text books bounced around her lap. He ran until he reached the end of the hall, but he carried her all of the way to Hagrid’s hut. She eventually gave up her protest and placed her head in between his bicep and chest. Scorp could tell she was grateful for a moments rest… Rose had a high tolerance for exhaustion- nodding off in class wasn’t the norm for her, daydreaming was. He’d make her go to bed tonight, no matter how much he wanted her to stay with him.
They reached Hagrid’s hut a couple of minutes late, so Hagrid was just outside waiting for Rose. Scorpius let her down, and pulled her in for one last kiss. “I’ll miss you.”
“Stop snoggin’ the girl and let her in her for God’s sake!” Hagrid boomed from behind Rose. Scorpius raised his head above Rose’s and grinned from ear to ear.
“It’s only an hour Scorp. You won’t die.” Rose turned and walked toward Hagrid, who led her around back to the rest of the class.
“I can’t promise that.”
